Dad gets frustrated when the boys scramble up the rocks instead of sitting and smiling for me. Mom gives me an apologetic look as she explains that although they haven’t been there long, little sister has already taken a header into the water, and has a head full of sandy hair. I just smile, because I know that everything is fine…there is no need to worry…I got this.
Their twin boys may be on the rambunctious side, and little sister is a bit of a wild child herself, but for me that just makes the shoot more fun. There is something really special about capturing real authentic family portraits. When kids feel comfortable enough to be themselves with me and let their true selves shine in front of my camera. That’s when we can create portraits that are magical enough to bring tears to their Mamas eyes. And that’s when I love my job the most.
