I am always so impressed by how calm and collected Samantha and her parents are, despite all the health stress and headaches they have experienced over the last eight months. I wrote more about it here for Samantha’s four month portraits. In spite of all this Samantha is always full of cheer and smiles whenever I see her.
The day after the session, her Mama sent me this note, that I have to share:
“Thank you Maggie for such a great morning yesterday! We spend most of our days visiting doctors and specialists, and filled with anxiety and worry over Sam. But now and then, we get to take a step away from all of that and just enjoy being proud parents of an amazing girl. Yesterday morning was the most fun we’ve had in a long time. I know it was just a photo shoot to many, but for us it was a few hours that we got to forget about her medical issues and just laugh, sing, be silly, and play with Sam. It was a good reminder to take more time to just have fun and enjoy this age, because my goodness it is AWESOME! Thank you again for what you do and the moments you capture!”
What a great reminder for all parents. They are only this little for so long. Don’t let the hectic pace of everyday life get in the way. Take the time to have fun and get lost in the beauty and wonder of childhood. Thank you for the reminder Vanessa, and for trusting me to capture these moments for your family!
For this Baby’s First Year session, we started out with some simple in studio portraits before moving to the outdoors. This was my first shoot in my new favorite Santa Clarita location and I’m looking forward to photographing more families here.
