I felt so emotional driving to see this family for their second baby’s newborn portraits. I thought that I might cry as soon as I saw them, but I managed to keep it together.
I had photographed big sister, Sam’s Baby’s First Year sessions. She had some challenging, and at times scary, medical problems throughout her first year that I had continued to follow closely on Mama’s Facebook page since I last saw them at Sam’s one year old session almost two years ago. She’s doing really well now, but it was a difficult few years for this family, who are some of the kindest but toughest people I know.
I was thrilled to hear that they were expecting a new little girl and that I would get to spend another year with them.
We were finalizing dates for Mama’s maternity session when Madeline decided to come early. So instead we planned for her newborn portraits. And I had the pleasure of photographing these beautiful lifestyle newborn portraits at home.
Big sister Sam did such an amazing job with her new little sister! She made what is usually a difficult part of the session, getting toddler siblings to cooperate, so easy.
I am so happy that I get to spend another Baby’s First Year with this beautiful family.
