I arrived at their home the day before Halloween. It was a warm fall day, as usual here in Los Angeles. As I drove up, I saw Grandma taking big sister, Harper, for a walk, and I remembered what a great sleeper she had been for her newborn session and what a beautiful lavender, butterfly nursery she had. I was excited to see if her little brother slept as easily and deeply as his sister, and how their Mama had decorated his nursery.
I was not at all disappointed. He was asleep when I arrived and slept soundly through the entire session as the warm autumn sunlight flooded his room. His nursery was just as lovely as sister’s, with bright blue walls, green accents and a Dr. Seuss theme. Perfect for a little boy.
I love when I get to photograph a lifestyle newborn session at home, especially when there are older siblings. They are always more comfortable at home, especially in these first days of a huge change in their lives. Harper was a little wary of taking photos with her little brother, but we managed to get some precious shots that I know they’ll forever cherish.
