Another session catching up from my super busy holiday season!
I love shooting extended family portraits. These sessions are a little more formal, and much more hectic than my more casual style of single family portraits, but I adore the concept of everyone, young and old, coming together to capture the love among a growing family. I had a wonderful time shooting this family at Pasadena City Hall in December. Every member of this big family was sweet and funny and showed off their personalities for my camera.
Thinking about an extended family session? I recommend talking with the key members of the group to make sure everyone is on board in advance of scheduling your session. When everyone involved is on the same page and looking forward to the outcome it can be a wonderful experience for everyone from start to finish!
And remember to schedule early! It can often be difficult to find an available date that works for the whole family. Although I do keep a few select dates open around Christmas for families who are coming to town to visit just for the holidays, I recommend the Spring & Summer months rather than the holiday season for extended family sessions whenever possible. Finding an open date when the whole family is free can be very difficult between September and December. I hope to see you and your whole family this spring or summer!
