1. My little brother, Emmett, turned 27 last weekend. Doesn’t it always make you feel a little old when your younger siblings get older?

2. My family had a party for Emmett on Sunday, and earlier that day we also attended yet another birthday party of one of Eleanor’s preschool classmates. I love to go to these and take photos for the kid’s parents. I know that when I throw parties I’m too busy doing other things to pick up my camera! My favorite part of birthday parties: It gives me a chance to work on my event photography skills. Although it’s not an area of photography I’m planning on going into, I’d love to be better at it. Eleanor’s favorite part: cake!

3. We’re headed to Palm Springs with the Schuberts and maybe a few other couples next weekend! It should be so much fun! We’ve been talking about doing it for almost a year I think. I’m excited it’s actually going to happen. I ordered a new bikini just for hanging out by the pool!  Unfortunately, I’ve been over-indulging just a tad (see items 1 and 2 above), but I have been going to the gym so I guess it probably evens out.
